Terms of Service

1. Who we are

Nonprofit Voice is a service of Evolve Catalyst LTD, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 16007722, with its registered office at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ.

These terms apply when you use nonprofitvoice.org.uk, list a charity, submit an article, apply for a placement, list an event or buy advertising. Using the website means you accept them.

Our Privacy Policy explains what we do with personal information. Our Disclaimer sets out the limits of what we verify.

Effective date: 07/09/2026

2. What Nonprofit Voice offers

  • A publication covering the UK charity sector, free to read
  • A directory of registered UK charities, free to join
  • Event listings, free while we choose to offer them at no cost
  • Paid placements: sponsored articles, featured directory listings, featured campaign placements and display advertising

We may add, change or withdraw any of these. We do not promise that the site will be available without interruption.

3. Using the website

You must be 18 or over to submit anything to us.

You agree not to:

  • Use the website for anything unlawful, fraudulent or misleading
  • Submit content you do not have the right to submit
  • Harass, abuse or defame anyone, including other charities
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site or any account
  • Scrape, copy or republish the directory or our articles at scale
  • Send unsolicited marketing through our forms or contact addresses

We may suspend or remove access where these terms are broken.

4. Directory listings

Listing is free and open to charities registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales, OSCR in Scotland, or the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland.

By submitting a listing, you confirm that you are authorised to act for the charity, that the registration number is correct, and that the description, logo and images are yours to use.

We check the registration number before publishing. We do not assess how a charity is run or how it spends its money, and a listing is not an endorsement.

We may edit a listing for length, formatting or clarity, and we may remove one where the charity is no longer registered, where the information is inaccurate, or where these terms are broken.

5. Articles and contributed content

We publish contributed articles at no charge where the piece carries no promotion. Anything intended to promote an organisation, service, campaign or appeal is a paid placement.

By submitting an article, you confirm that it is your own work, that it has not been published elsewhere, that any statistics are accurate and sourced, and that you hold the rights to any images and have consent from anyone identifiable in them.

We edit for clarity, length and house style. Changes that affect your meaning go back to you before publication. We may decline anything, and we may remove a published piece where a claim in it turns out to be wrong.

6. Paid placements and advertising

Paid placements are agreed individually. We confirm the price, the format and the dates in writing before anything is published, and nothing goes live until you have agreed all three.

All paid content is labelled as an advertisement feature, and its links are marked as paid, which means they pass no search ranking credit. This is not negotiable.

We do not accept placements for gambling, adult content, payday lending, crypto or investment schemes, anything outside the UK charity sector, or placements bought for the link rather than the audience.

You are responsible for the accuracy of claims about your own organisation, and for complying with the CAP Code. We may decline or remove a placement that we consider misleading.

Where a sponsored article is sold as a permanent placement, that is a commitment to host the article. We may remove or unlink a destination that becomes inactive, misleading or unlawful.

7. Payment

Paid placements are invoiced. Payment terms are set out on the invoice. We may withhold publication until payment is received.

Evolve Catalyst LTD is not registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged on our invoices.

Cancellation and refunds

Where a placement has not yet been published, you may cancel, and we will refund anything already paid. Once a placement is live, fees are not refundable, because the work of producing and publishing it has been done. If we cancel or fail to publish an agreed placement, we refund in full.

8. Your content and our use of it

You keep ownership of everything you send us.

You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to publish, store, display and format your content on Nonprofit Voice, and to use extracts to promote the publication itself, for as long as the content remains on the website.

You can ask us to remove your content at any time. We may keep copies where the law requires it.

9. Our content

Articles, page copy, the Nonprofit Voice name and our logo belong to Evolve Catalyst LTD or our contributors. You may quote briefly with attribution and a link. You may not republish whole articles or copy the directory in bulk without written permission.

10. Removing content

We may edit or remove any listing, article, campaign, event or placement that breaks these terms, is inaccurate or misleading, names another charity unfairly, or no longer meets the conditions it was published under. Where we can, we will tell you why.

If you believe something on the website infringes your rights or is defamatory, email contact@evolvecatalyst.org with the page address and what the problem is. We will look at it and respond.

11. What we do not promise

Nonprofit Voice provides information. We do not give legal, financial, tax or fundraising advice, and nothing on the site should be treated as advice on your own situation.

We do not process donations and take no share of anything given through a link on this site. Donations are subject to the terms of the receiving charity or platform.

We check that listed organisations are registered. We do not audit their finances, their governance or their claims, and a listing, placement or article is not an endorsement.

We do not guarantee any level of traffic, visibility, search ranking, donations or enquiries from any listing or placement.

12. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

Subject to that, our total liability to you in connection with the website or any placement is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

We are not liable for loss of profit, loss of donations, loss of data or business interruption.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The effective date at the top shows when they last changed. Where a change affects a placement already agreed, the terms in force when we agreed it continue to apply.

14. Complaints and disputes

If something has gone wrong, email contact@evolvecatalyst.org and we will try to sort it out. Most things are resolved this way.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
