RSBC
Royal Society for Blind Children
About the Charity
RSBC uses the word blind to describe any level of vision impairment, including children and young people who are partially sighted. We work with children, young people and families from the point of diagnosis to age 25.
We use the term ‘Life Without Limits’ to reflect the fact we are there to support children, young people and their families to work towards removing the societal barriers that exist and achieve their own personal goals and aspirations for the future. RSBC’s centre in London is called the Life Without Limits Centre for this very reason.
We work with a range of specialist partners who share our vision and enable us to reach more children and young people across England and Wales.
At RSBC, we want every blind child and their family to have the skills and confidence to live their life without limits.
There are just under 37,000 blind and partially sighted children and young people in England and Wales. Every day, four more children will be diagnosed with vision impairment.
Blind and partially sighted children and young people frequently live wonderful and fulfilling lives. However, statistically, they are at a disadvantage.
